JT English serves as a pastor, professor, and author. He is the author of Deep Discipleship: How the Local Church Can Make Whole Disciples, You are a Theologian: An Invitation to Know and Love God Well, co-authored with Jen Wilkin, and Remember and Rehearse: An Invitation to Participate in God’s Story which releases in May 2025. 

He is also a co-founder of Training the Church and a co-host of the Knowing Faith podcast which dives into Christian story, belief and practice in a way that is accessible to everyone. JT also co-leads a Training the Church Cohort, which equips ministry leaders to develop a philosophy of ministry that produces deep disciples in the life of the local church.

He received his ThM in Historical Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and PhD in Systematic Theology from Southern Seminary, where he serves as adjust faculty.

JT is married to Macy English, and they have two children.
